Gucci Brown Leather Purse, Gold Horsehead

I have the identical Gucci in navy suede, also a gift! I have been scouring the web for last 2 years looking for ANY info on it, or any old Gucci for that matter. Gucci have never kept historical details of each bag (or other items) sold, which I find so odd? You are correct about 40's, that has been my hunch too, mainly because I also have a wallet (gift from same Aunt who gave me bag) black suede, G.Gucci imprinted (the Father, Founder) which she had told me she got on a trip abroad, since this would have been before Gucci was sold in US. If you find out anything on this would you inform me, please & I'll be glad to do the same. I would think it would be very valuable, considering the rarity... but you likely know alot more about this than I, since I'm not a collector. I do have some gorgeous bags of my Nana's, and some my Mom gave me over the years I am about to sell, likely on ebay. I'm sure you are familiar w/ bag lady university site?
