H. MULLER BRONZE BUST OF BEETHOVEN

Description

TITLE: Bronze bust of Beethoven - RESTRIKE
MARKS: H. Muller embossed on back of right shoulder and the number 5 over 25 (five of twenty-five). Nameplate on base: Muller.
CONDITION: Excellent overall condition, no damage. Nice patina.
HISTORY: Purchased at a collectors show in southern California in 1987. Seller represented the bust as a high quality re-strike of H. Muller’s original bronze bust of Beethoven, number five of twenty-five. On the lower back of the bust are the numbers 5 over 25. The bust is mounted on high quality Italian marble (quoted by seller) and a brass name plate on the center of the 1-1/2” base is inscribed “Muller.” The bust stands approximately 16-1/2 inches high and is very heavy, weighing approximately 36 pounds.

No repiies to date and am still in search for information about this bronze bust.

Any information would be helpful. Was thinking of listing it on eBay but have no idea of the value of a re-cast Muller bust.
