Description
2 end tables and coffee table. Has some damage on edges of coffee table and 1 side table from cigarette burns, not too bad. Legs screw on. Side tables have drawers, coffee table has 2 drawers. Carving is perfect as it was protected under glass. All four sides are also carved, no damage.
Re: Hand carved Japanese (?) tables made from teak
Your coffee and end table set was made by the George Zee Company in Hong Kong. This manufacturer sold furniture mainly to military personnel based in the orient during the 1950's to the 1970's.
Re: Hand carved Japanese (?) tables made from teak
Thank you for your response to my inquiriy on these table. To this date it is the most we have found out about them.
Again thank you
Re: Hand carved Japanese (?) tables made from teak
I have almost the EXACT same coffee table but it is carved in a slightly different image on the top and mine has glass. I have papers dating mine from the 1800's - I think the quote that they were made in the 1950's may be a little off but I am not an expert.
Re: Hand carved Japanese (?) tables made from teak
I just re-read your post - my table legs do not screw on, my table is one solid piece, so that is also a difference.
Re: Hand carved Japanese (?) tables made from teak
i would like to know how much are they worth now? they are very breath taking tables!!!!!!!
Re: Hand carved Japanese (?) tables made from teak
Those hand carved Japanese tables are my dream. When I first downloaded a couple of photos from search http://bytesland.com I can say I fell in love with them. The work is so exquisite. I can't take my eyes off the tables. Would like to have one with pleasure.
