Description

I don't really know what this item is. I have had it for a long time and purchased it because i liked it. It appears that it is some sort of clay food cooker/warmer, but I may be totally wrong. It measures approx. 21 1/2" long, it is quite heavy. It has 4 circular holes through each side and the item is the shape of a fish or shark. The mouth is wide open and appears that something can be placed inside. The top looks like food or something can be placed on it. It is glazed natural clay color. All hand carved and made. No markings that are visual. Please help! I would like to sell it, but don't know what it is exactly.

Thai Fish Platter with Keep-Warm Base I am not 100% sure I'm right but here is a close start that might help you out. also I think the base was used for keeping  Fish and soup warm. charcoel I think, your missing the lid. Price with out the lid..might be hard to sell...good luck. hope this helps.

Thank you for your comments on my item. I was thinking that it was the same kind of thing, but due to the thickness and weight of the clay, which it is very thick and heavy, it just doesn't appear that it would have a lid and is why i got thrown off. I would think that the lid would have to be the same material and thickness and it would be very heavy, much heavier than a modern terra cotta fish cooker. It just doesn't look like it is designed to have a lid, but I may be totally wrong. Thank you!
