History This saddle was designed and hand tooled in 1937 by Harpham Brothers in Lincoln NE for John J. Hedges. He lived on the family homestead at 56th and O Street in Lincoln where he used this saddle many times a week. "He rode this saddle on the farm up until a few days before he was put in a nursing home." It was then passed on to George W. Hedges (my grandfather) and was used as a working saddle on the farm from 1942 to 1963. George Dale Hedges (my father, in picture) used to daily to ride across the road (Central City airport location) and bring the cows home. He also used this saddle to ride to school daily in 1945. He used it mostly for pleasure from 1963 to 1990 including a long trip from Central City to North Platte to NebraskaLand Days in 1979.
