Description
This is a hand woven basket with black painted designs as shown in the pictures. It stands just under 15" tall, with a diameter of approximately 14". It has twisted loops (handles?) around the top edge (six total), and two twisted loops lower down on each side which act as guides for the strap that is tied around the basket and which acts as a shoulder strap/handle. The strap is made from multiple strands of some type of tree bark/raffia-type fiber. The interior has five concentric ribs acting as the "skeleton". This was purchased at a reputable antique auction, but no information was given with it.
