Re: Handmade Gold Plated Intricate Artifact--Asian Indian ? ...
If you polished this and the areas that you think are gold were tarnished, then it is not gold. Gold never tarnishes. These items appear to be indian or asian and I cant tell very well from the pictures, but I am wondering if all the colored designs are cloisonne or paint. I think it is probably more new than old. Look inside the bowl where you can see machine marks on the metal that are very even and symetrical. The artistic quality makes me think it was made for tourist trade or import, especially snce there are two of them. The color combination is not typical of older works. They are pretty, but you may have paid too much.
