Hello, I have searched for years for ANY background information about this piece~but have never found anything. I've searched eBay and many different antique sites, but haven't been able to get any information. (Ironically, I did find one on Craigslist~while searching for a cage~ that is identical in shape, color, etc. but it's smaller and it does have vertical wires in it, like a minature cage. Unfortunately, the man had no idea of it's history either. I would love to find out exactly what this is:) It is shaped sort of like a pagoda, but I suspect it's suppose to represent a cage of some sort? It is white with small, mostly pink flowers on it, and gilding around the scalloped edges. There are NO markings on it, only an odd shaped silver sticker on the bottom, that can no longer be made out..and I can't even be positive that it is actually for this piece. It has a round brass hoop on top to hang it from, and a small hook on the underneith inside top, for something to hang from that. (A fake bird I would guess?) This was given to my Grandmother as a gift when we moved away, by an English lady neighbor. Her husband was in the service and had traveled the World, but I don't know if he may have brought it home from abroad, or if it came from a five and dime store:) If you have any ideas or information about this piece, I would very much appreciate it! Thank You!!
