This is an original typed letter dated June 8, 1954. It is on stationary with a heading that reads "Harry S. Truman Federal Reserve Bank Building Kansas City 6, Missouri". It was written to my great grandfather who was a judge at the time. I have left out my grandfather's name for security reasons, and I don't believe it adds any signifigance or value to the letter's worth. It reads as follows: Dear Judge ******: Mr. Tibbetts, of the Platte County Gazette, has just informed me that you have found it necessary to go to the hospital. I hope it is only temporary and that you will soon be back to normal again. Sincerly yours, (then it is hand-signed "Harry Truman"). Beneath that it says my grandfather's name, then "Veterans Hospital Kansas City, Missouri". I also have a carbon copy of the letter that my grandfather wrote in return, which speaks of Truman being ill.
