Heavy Murano Unicorn 11" tall
Many of these modern Studio pieces are not well marked , or have paper/foil labels that are either removed after sale or simply fall off. There are many makers of glass in Italy, such as Toso, Dino Martens and Salviati, whose work and markings are well documented, but most lesser known makers are not. While all these pieces are hand made, they have been produced in huge numbers since World War Two and thousands are bought by Touristsin Venice every year. Values tend to be modest for all but those early post war pieces marked by a big name maker. In the current market comparable Murano pieces sell at auction in the $50.00- $100.00 range.
