Description

This cup and saucer has military scenes on it and it seems untypical of the usual Helena Wolfsohn scenes and also has a hairline crack on cup and small chip on lip of cup. Saucer is in good condition. Gilding and colours bright. AR on base. As it may be rare but also has some damage I wondered what it is worth? Thank you!

It's a knock of of 18th Century Meissen porcelain, Wolfsohn being one of many Dresden studios copying the work of the Famous Meissen Porcelain works down to even copying its company markings. Meissen ended up taking the matter to court in the late 19th century, forcing companies like Wolfshon to cease using the meissen style markings.  Damaged examples like this often sell for under $30.00.
