I have pretty much the same set that has been in my family since around 1920.  The only marking I found on it was that it was made in shelbyville, Ind.  Am trying to find out value also.  I haven't been very successful in finding much information on it as of yet

Strange that you think this piece is American, Hespeler was located in Canada ;~) This is a Colonial Revival Set, most like this do date from the mid 20's to early 30's. here's a link for you regarding the company http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/discipline/SpecColl/archives/hespeler.html
