Description

This is a small brass box with the HMAS Sydney logo on the top of it. It may have had a mirror or photo in it at some point in time , im not really sure what it was for , please enlighten me :)

It has a brass hinge at the back and is crafted very well to have lasted this long . Considering the history of the HMAS Sydney this could be a very rare item indeed , i have not found another like it looking on the interent . If anybody can give me any information about this item , it would be greatly appreciated .

                          Best regards

History I found this item in amongst my late fathers belongings stored away in storage . HMAS Sydney was a Chatham class light cruiser of the Royal Australian Navy. Her crew made history in 1914, during World War I, when Sydney took part in the RAN's first ship against ship battle, the Battle of Cocos. The ship went down in 1929 and was only just recently found off the coast of australia . Im not sure how my father acquired this and dont know anything about it really .
