Huntley end cabinets - connecting top piece, excellent frame

By hrdsldr77, 3 November, 2013
Description

So we've had this 3-piece heavy wood set for several years, but have decided that it's just too cumbersome to move again. It demands a big space (as shown), and while I have always loved it framing my TV, it just isn't a practical option anymore. Each end cabinet has an upper and lower dual swinging door set, and the lower doors open to three big drawers while the upper has 3 large open shelves.

That being said, I don't want to dump this onto someone on Craigslist for only $50, either. I'd love to have a little more information about it, so I can value it accordingly. I plan on waxing it up before I post it (don't have to get rid of it until the end of the year), and making sure everything is in as good of condition as it can possibly be without adding/removing any of the original pieces.

I've tried to search online for something similar, but I can't find anything at all. While that's fairly exciting, because this could be some crazy unique piece (doubtful), it's also irritating because ultimately we just want to get rid of it without throwing money away.

First post on here, so any help i can get from you kind people would be greatly appreciated.

Unsure - maple/oak?
Distinguishing marks
Huntley flame-etched into interior drawer. Ornate plating on door edges/handles. Connecting top piece seems to be set-up for recessed lighting (wiring above). Dunno if this is original.
Condition
Fair
Size and dimensions of this item
Cabinets about 6'6-7'0" tall, connecting piece about 6' long.
Date Period
I would assume around the 40's or 50's, as Huntley converted to another name at that point I think.
Weight
Heavy. Very heavy. So very heavy.
