These framed intaglios have been in the family for some time and I don’t know a thing about them. Any ideas?

Re: Intaglios
Do you know what the composition of these pieces is and size ? Very wonderful pieces of history.
Thanks in advance ... TJG
Re: Intaglios
Hi—I don’t know what they’re made of or anything about them. They’ve been collecting dust in our basement and I just realized lately they may be truly special. I’d like to show them to someone who might know about their history but don’t know where to go.
Re: Intaglios
These were used by ancient roman and greek families. They were made to show historic people and events. Modern Versions which are highly collectable are made of plaster. Some are made of other materials. These look to be by my guestimate Circa ... atleast mid 1800's if not much earlier. Upon closer look I see roman influence in 2 of the pieces. I am not sure where you are located or I could direct you to people and places that could tell you more. Please send me a PM with your details and I will find some local contacts for you .... Regards ,,, Thomas J
