International Silver CO India item, Tray,Oval Container with Lions Head on Sides, Top

By sue148, 9 August, 2016
Description

I have no idea what this is--it was inherited!

The bottom tray is oval in shape 7.5 inches long , 6.25 across. It has four small balls on the bottom that are used as feet. There is engraving of flowers anbd leaves around the edge and the tray is indented to place the oval container in.

The container itself is 5 inches long, 3.75 inches across and 3,5 inches high. It has the same patterning as the tray at the very top rim. ON each end of the container, there is a lion head with a ring hanging out of it. (this may not be a lion..LOL) The center has an ornate engraving of a heart with the interior of the heart like a tic tac toe board with downward arrows pointing to the bottom. Attached to the outside of the heart on both sides is a leafy vine.

The top of the container is 5.5 inches long,4.5 inches wide, roughly 3 inches tall including crown top.Crown top is 1 inch by itself. The top of this container has a lip so it fits on the container. The outside has the matching flower and leaf design as everything else. On the dome there is a flower ( resembling a petunia) with leaves shotting out to the sides. at the very top is a crown that is used as the handle.
