Description I found a letter which states as follows: Here is the history of our french figures No. 297 AB. The original figures were modeled by a very famous artist in the 14th century. Approx 1958 Castro Convertible were selling the last antique pair for $2400. We (Benrose Lamp Co) bought the pair, took them to Italy and had them modeled by Professor Menego Poloniato, who then was teaching at the University of Florence, Italy. The little stickers indicate that this pair is 68/569. I believe the gold chairs were purchased at the same time, but not necessarily "came with" the figures. In 1978 each chair was worth $100. I found a price sticker on one of them. These belonged to my parents and I inherited them. They are quite lovely, but I don't know the value or any other background.
