Ivory Budda

By bbyfce111, 15 March, 2011
Description

This is what I believe is an Ivory budda statue. He is holding a stick with a bag attatched to it. I have no idea how old it is or what the marking means on the back. It could be a date or a signature. I have 5 pics in this listing to look at. If anyone has info, please let me know. Thank you Dave

Re: Ivory Budda

Wow, that is a beautiful Buddha! It does appear to be chinese in style, and actually looks quite a bit like similar examples I have seen made of mammoth ivory, that are 1000+ yrs. old, of course, to know for sure what you have you'd really have to take it to an expert in asian art and have it evaluated in person, I'd definitely recommend doing that, if it is real, and more than about a century old it would probably be worth quite a bit! Good luck!
