This boat was found in a second hand store and was part of a collection of things that were being sold for an 87 year old Army Veteran. I was told it was brought back after WWII or some time around then. Not sure whether it is bone or Ivory. The Ivory is plated in panels on the outside held in place by wood pegs. The wood pegs push through into a light weight wood block. I don't know what may be original and what would be repairs. The bouys are hanging from the sides and corners and are also carved ivory. This is an interesting peice and I am sure there is some history behind it. all hand rails are bone or ivory as well as the rail posts. I believe there is a sail or may passengers that may be missing based upon the empty peg holes on the bow platform.
