Description

I recently inherited this watch from my grandfather.  I would guess it was made in the 1950s or 60s. It did not come in the original box, nor did it have any paperwork, so I don't know the model or any other relevant info.

Hi,

After some digging I believe you have a fantastic IWC "Calibre 89" Watch.

The body alone is worth thousands.  There's currently one on eBay for over $5,500.  Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IWC-VINTAGE-89-VINTAGE-18K-ROSE-GOLD-WATCH-CALIBRE-89-35MM-COM697-/222140114419

The tough part I'm having is matching the band.  Are there any markings on the band?

The other thing I would suggest is to reach out to the company for some guidance.  I know that you don't want to sell it, but maybe you can get a better idea of what to insure it for.

This is the link to the official website:  http://www.iwc.com/en-us/

I hope this helped.

-Pete
