Japanese Porcelain Vase

By PEPYCAT503, 26 May, 2010
Description

THIS BRIGHTLY COLORED LITTLE VASE STANDS A MERE SIX INCHES TALL, THOUGH ITS ART WORK IS VERY MAJESTIC DESPITE ITS SMALL STATURE. ON THE VASE IS AN EMBOSSED/RAISED FIGURE OF A WOMAN WITH A SCROLL RIDING ON THE BACK OF A THREE TOED DRAGON.IT APEARS TO BE HAND PAINTED.
IT IS VERY ATTRACTIVE, I WAS RECENLY GIVEN A VERBAL APPRAISAL OF $50 FOR THIS LITTLE GEM.
THE MARK OF THE RISING SUN WITH THE ADDITION OF
“MADE IN JAPAN” , SUGGESTS A DATE TO THE LATTER PART OF THE 1940s. A fine example of mid 20th c. Nippon.
