Description I got this table from an elderly friend who said that she got it used when her children were little. She told me that it was a Duncan Phyfe, but it is stamped Jefferson Woodworking Co. #345. I have had this table for several years and have always been curious about how old the table really is. I have done several google searches and I can't find chairs that look like these chairs. I have seen similar harps, but not the same ones. There are 6 chairs total chairs. The fabric is a velvet that is a dusty rose color with thin dark maroon stripes. Thanks for your help!

Suites of this type are in what's called the "Federal Revival" style. Federal Revival pieces are reproductions of the original American Federal furniture originally produced from 1780-1820, based on English pieces designed by George Hepplewhite and Thomas Sheraton. The Federal Revival style became popular after the first Centennial of the American Revolution in 1876. At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so great it outstripped supply. This caused large manufacturers to begin production of pieces in the Colonial and Federal styles from the Jacobean to Duncan Phyfe. The style reached it's peak of popularity during the mid 1920's, but pieces of this type remained in production through the early 1940's. suites of this type still remain in production to this day. Values for them are generally under $450.00 at auction. Lovejoy

I had four of these chairs, but my friend who is large sat on one of them and smashed it completely! I would like to replace this chair with a reproduction if they are still around. any Ideas where I can find these? my chairs are harp-back just like those in the picture but a little more delicate. thanks for any help. dottiedesi
