Re: John maddock antique Royal vitreous jug and bowl
Based on the images and the marking, this set is ironstone and dates from the turn of the 19th Century. Demand for wash basin sets last peaked in the late 1980's, demand and values for them have declined a great deal. We see comparable sets now often go for under $150.00 at auction.
Re: John maddock antique Royal vitreous jug and bowl
I have a gravy dish with attached plate of a different pattern by the same maker, and I agree with Lovejoy about the demand for wash basins. However, I watch this makers items on eBay and other sites as well. And I'm no pro, but it seems the makers items sell very quickly. So that may play a bigger role in its worth than what the item is. Best wishes!
