John Maddock Gala pattern

Description

I just purchased two boxes of John Maddock china (approx 50 dinner plates, 50 saucers, and 50 cups). I'm guessing they are RW from the sheer bulk of them, but they also read "ultra vitrified" on the back. They have the pattern name, "Gala," however, I'm unable to find anything about this design. Could anybody help me with dating the set and possibly offer any kind of valuation? Are they really restaurant ware? They are very retro looking with a brown oval pattern.

The box also included four small brown plates, which I think are marked "Saxony," (the marking is pretty worn) and a few more brown cups, marked "EIP LTD."

Many thanks,
Emma
