Johnson Furniture Company Grand Rapids Michigan

By mark c stevens, 17 July, 2011
Description

Gently used matched Johnson Furniture bedroom set appears to be cherry wood. Hand carved claw foot design on all the pieces. The grain colors really look spectacular, and may not show up well in all of the photos. The hand carved claw foot design really is unique and is in great shape. None of the claws are broken or worn, considering it's at shoe level. The short dresser with two mirrors is shown with only one of them attached, we have the other one. It also has a unique hand carved sliding "secret compartment" in one of the drawers.

The vanity has slight wear on the top surface, nothing major...just a slight discoloration. It also has the original bench stool, and that leather seat has some slight cracking, not bad for 100 years old.

The rest of the furniture pieces are in excellent condition. A couple of the drawer pulls are installed upside down, but this is very minor and can be fixed in a few minutes.

The photos speak for themself...the quality of the woodwork is very fine and they have been well preserved by our family.

Re: Johnson Furniture Company Grand Rapids Michigan

A very nice set in the Queen Anne Style, but it appears to be mahogany rather than cherry. At auction comparable sets often sell in the $800.00 -$1500.00 range. in the current market
