Description

I recently bought this zither at a pawn shop for 20 dollars. On the first fret it's imprinted "K. Schamal Praha Prac" . It has 34 strings. From snippets of information on the web, I have found that "K. Schamal" made instruments in the late 1800s. There is also a banjo zither made by K. Schamal in the metropolitan museum.

Category Music and Music Instruments
Medium Wood. The inlays appear to be real wood inlays. It has metal work where the tuners for the melody strings are.
Distinguishing marks K. Schamal Praha Prac,
Condition Poor
Date Period Maybe late 1800s? I don't know if he made it or if the company stuck around for a long time.

Upon further inspection of the label in the soundhole after cleaning it I found the date 1891. Does anyone know anything else about this zither or the man/ company who made it?

I can't make out anything else on the label besides "K. Schamal", partly because it's covered in crud and adhesive and partly because I can't read German.
