Like to know more about these coats I found

By Briguy473, 8 February, 2012
Description

I found these two coats in our attic in an old trunk under a bunch of blankets. They appear to be in great condition. The one long trench coat has a tag and is dated  Jan 4, 1945  then there is a date below that stating 4/02/1942 it has plastic buttons with eagles on them the lining is intact and in great condition.

The short coat I have no Idea which war it is from what the date is or even which army it is from. There are no marks on the button and about the only thing I can read on the tag is that it belonged to a Maj W Gumlher the date is to far faded and I cannot make it out. I would like to know more about them most of all their worth if I can try and resell them They do not fit and have no sentimental value.
