Re: Kutani Tea Set

This is what's called Dragonware. Most "Dragonware" was made from the 1920's onward for the export market from Japan, this set was made in Kutani, Japan, a well known center of production of Japanese Porcelain. Dragonware was made in very large numbers, a lot of it brought back by troops stationed in Japan and the Pacific. In the current market values even for whole sets tends to be modest, we see comparable sets sell at auction on a regular basis going for less than $100.00
