My dad was in marines from 1926to1947 stationed in China. While wooing my mom he brought back the ring and a beautiful carved camphor chest (NOT a trade item). I was born in San Diego in 1944 (without malaria I wouldn't exist). When dad went to Iwo mom had be in a crib and w/o air bedroom window was open. In crawls a tarantula into by crib, mom panics collapsing side of crib onto her hand smashing the ring, and that was how it remained until 2005 when I was asked what I wished for from her bountiful estate, of course it was the ring. So she took it to a jewelers to get fixed and it took 11 months to get it back from interpol, seems it was some kind of royal jewelry taken in the 1800's and when they did release it to mom it had to be etched and have the 10k stamped in it. end of story ?
