chest is solid cedar with all wood design outlayed on the outer surface w/wood diamonds on lower front round ball feet with built on casters,, copper seal around underside of lid.. push button lock on front under lid..
style is 44456X serial number is 021232

We get quite a number of questions related to Lane Chests, according to the serial number yours was made in 1932. In the current market these chests have rather modest values even if in good condition we often see them sell for under $250.00

You may contact them for a free http://www.lanefurniture.com/CustomerService/Lock-Replacement.aspx replacement lock, if yours is within the years of the recall.
And, if yours is pre-40's it is more than the newer, which are usually only around $200.... http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4794032_determining-value-lane-cedar-chest… can date it thru the company, too.
