Lane Cedar Chest, Passed down from family members. Has a lock on it but no key, and has trees painted on it. I do have the Style and serial number for it.

Post an image or two and I'll tell you what you have. Lane made these chests in styles from Jacobean to Moderne for over 90 years.

You may contact them for a free http://www.lanefurniture.com/CustomerService/Lock-Replacement.aspx replacement lock, if yours is within the years of the recall.
And, if yours is pre-40's it is more than the newer.... http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4794032_determining-value-lane-cedar-chest… can date it thru the company, too.
