Lane Cedar Chest

By Aprlwine, 18 November, 2012
Description

I was given an old Lane Cedar Chest that I am going to give my daughter for her 16th birthday. I was wondering what the value and exact age of it is. I have to put one of the legs back on it. I also think at one time, it had a drawer underneath it in the center that I would like to replace if possible? Other than that, it just needs to be cleaned up. The Style is: 9593-23 and the serial number is: 2375110. Any help would be appreciated. I have enclosed some pictures of the chest as I am unable to find one like it on the Internet. Inside, I found the letter of Authenticity with the Insurance Replacement Value of up to $500.00 for a three year period.

Re: Lane Cedar Chest

Hi,

There are already a ton of Lane Cedar chests that have been appraised on here. My suggestion would be to use the search for "Lane Cedar Chest" above and you should be able to find all the info you need.

Re: Lane Cedar Chest

This Lane chest is very modern, it's unlikely it predates the 1960's. These were made in huge number from WW1 onward, most sell for under $150.00 at auction, the more modern ones like this example are very hard to sell in the current market.

Re: Lane Cedar Chest

2375110 read backwards, this shows the chest was made January 15, 1973 at plant #2.
