Description
Large 19th c. lacquered jewelry box with floral design done in gold leaf and inlaid mother of pearl. Some wear of paint and finish as expected. The top lifts and reveals an open velvet lined compartment. Two doors open in the front to reveal four drawers. There is missing trim on one of the doors. Each drawer has mother of pearl pulls, although a few are missing. Two drawers are lined with silk and or velvet and two are not. It has a lock but there is no key.

Most of these tend to be English mid to late Victorian pieces and are made of paper mache. They last peaked in popularity and value in the late 1980's. currently at auction they tend to sell in the $200.00- $300.00 range.
