Large Crystal Chandelier Iron? Brass? Teardrop

By Oldwoolys, 10 February, 2014
Description

This is a large crystal or glass chandelier we inherited from the previous owner of our home. She claimed to have purchased it many years ago for $10,000. It is some sort of iron or brass base with a dark and slight green patina showing through. I would like to know what it is actually made of crystal or not and what the metal is and the age, value, maker, etc. I don't believe it's a true antique. It is all modern wiring. It is about 32" across abd 30" from top to bottom dangling crystal (not including chain) We gave owned it for 7 1/2 years. We are selling our home and would like to know about it so we can decide if its worth taking with us, if we should sell it, or if we should leaceit with  the  home. Thank you for any help.
