Description

This oil painting was purchased in Lancaster England in about 1968 from an antique store. The signature (see picture) is signed by Lars. It appears to be the work of Lars (Captain) Thorsen (1876-1952), though it may be a reproduction.

The picture was damaged in about 1972 resulting in a tear in the middle of the picture (see closeup). The picture was professionally repaired. The rear of the picture also shows where the repairs were made.
