Description
I really don't know anyhting about this jug. I found out through an antique dealer that it looks to be alkaline glazed and made around 1860 to 1890. The makers mark is just a single T and there is the number 2 on it for the gallons.

Looks like an old moonshine jug to me, but thats just a suggestion. I havn't seen anything like this at auction so i can't give you a price for that. I would suggest takeing it to a muesum or private pottery gallery and getting it looked at. Some time's, they will even buy the piece off of you, if you have found anything of worth or of age. Sorry couldn't be of more help.

At a museum it depends on if they get to it fast or not. From a collector it can take no time at all or take some time. It just depends.

The jug is a Timmerman, made in Stockton, Ga. about 1890 + or - a couple of years, Very collectable. Worth about $400 in todays market if not damaged. With the damage it really depends on the collector and what it's worth to him. I'd guess about $100 and perhaps as much as $200 as is. Old Southern pottery has value even when damaged as most collectors expect a piece to have been used and as a result have some chips or cracks.

Do you still have jug? I have one similar, was told possibly made be Rufus Brown in Timmerman Shop.
