Leather chaise style Chair with Matching ottoman

By data, 16 January, 2015
Description

Hi, I am trying to determine the retail value of this chair or learn something about it.  I purchased the chair in 1993 from an old lady in Austin, Texas.  At the time she told me that she bought it in Brazil, but she did not know if it was Brazilian in origin.

The chair is leather "all the way around and the ottoman is leather as well, but on the bottom someone attempted a restoration and stapled a sheet of plastic on the open bottom.  I do not know what is under the plastic as I decided it is best to leave it in the condition in which I bought it rather than attempt to restore it and risk diminishing whatever value it may have.  On the arms of the chair where ones hands would be if they were sitting in the chair are two spinnable ornate discs.  One on each arm.

The old lady I purchased them from said her husband called them his "worry beads" but I do not  think that is the correct term for them.  It is an interesting piece of furniture and I cannot find anything like it anywhere online.  If anyone can help me determine its worth, I would appreciate it very much!   The condition of the chair is very good with some wear, but it has always been properly stored and kept indoors.

Thank you
