Description 10 years ago, a man in my church gave me this horn, he said it had been in his closet for a very long time. Every music teacher and instructor that i have ever had begged me to sell it to them. The bell of the horn is raised at about a 45 degree angle above the horn. I dont really know anything about trumpets but am ready to sell it. I'm sorry that I don't know more, if you have any questions i will try my best to answer them.

Please contact me with a price for the sale of this horn. The LeBlanc Paris horns may be collectible depending upon condition. Your model horn was played by Maurice Andre in a famous duet with Gillespie. LeBlanc did not make their own horns. I can not give you a fair idea as to value as I can not accurately asess the condition cpsmetically or mechanically. Thank you!

I believe I can offer some assistance here. First of all, it is not a "silver" horn...it is a silver plated brass horn. It isn't a Gillespie model either, Gillespie's horn bent halfway up the bell pipe, not at the bell pipe curve. It is a French LeBlanc and that company is no longer exists. Selmer Conn is now what is left of it. It isn't that rare of an instrument either...I own 2 of them, although they are lacquered brass, not silver plate. It is very possible that originally that horn too was lacquered brass as well, and someone along the line had it silver plated. Several professional players used that horn, or something similar. it allows a player to basically look down and still have the bell point toward the audience. A question... is there any engraving on the horn that might make it stand out from any others...trumpeter Dick Ruedebusch played one that had a cobra engraved on the bell, making it a one-off horn and increasing it's value. if there is no special engraving on it, then it was just a stock horn. A vintage collector might pay somewhere along the lines of $1800.00 to $2500.00 for that horn... Hope this helps

Courtois made this model for LeBlanc in the '60s - '70's.  It is a professional-grade trumpet designed for Bobby Herriot to enhance projection. Similar in look to the famous Dizzy Gillespie tilted-bell trumpet, this 45 degree bend starts at the bell curve, not a sharper bend beginning next to the valves like Dizzy's horn. Available in silver or brass lacquer. Typical pricing for this model in good condition would be $600-$1,000. It is rare to see one sell above this price as of 2013. One in perfect condition would command more. It is a good playing trumpet with a bit of attitude.  Fairly rare because of low-production, these are hard to find.  Typically seen in jazz or funk band applications.
