Leopold full pedistal roll top desk

By Naomi Bowling, 8 August, 2010
Description

This is a full pedistal roll top desk with three keys and working locks. The original finish was a type of oak but has been refinished in a dark mahogany or black stain and the desk top has a glued on formica top. All the drawers are the original wood with some splits but still intact. There is a small area on the roll top that has peeled away and a broken piece of bottom trim is off but available. I found quite a bit of information about the company online and viewed many of the catalog pages from the University of IA library archives but was unable to find the exact rolltop configuration. The rolltop style looks to be from the 1912 line page 17.
