Re: Lighted 3d Rumple Minze sign (Vintage)
Paddington Corp began in 1937 in the US. and later almagamted with Pelican Brands which is now known as Paddington Brands LLC. Based in Camel IN and is a major importer of wine and spirits to US markets. They import from Chase UK distillary.
Rumple Mintze alo known as "Lingus" is a German style liqure brand. It is a pepperment schnaps. It has a high alchol content from 50% per volume or 100 proof. This has become one of there best selling products and they have recently release a few new flavors in the US.
Circa 1980 - 1990 - origin from American company with possible UK . German connection at time or release.
Although I have not seen any lights like this in my research. I have seen posters with a valuation (including shipping) of $20 - $40 US.
I would estimate this piece is worth from $100 - $150 US based on its size, uniqueness and limited production. I would encourage you to hold on to this piece to allow it to increase in value. Because of its source / nature it will become highly collectable in all likelyhood.
I share with you my example. I have a guy I deal with regularly and he has a habit of returning stuff that is junk to me, with stuff he had to sell of mine. A few yrs ago he threw in an old rusted out O'keef beer tray he figured was garbage. I took it to a different market and this rusted tray sold for almost $200 ... cha ching : ). Another example is old beer ashtrays that are glass. I have seen them go for $20 - $30 a piece in todays market as they are now in demand.
Hang on to the piece ... Its like money in the bank ... Don't have too much of that Rumple Mintze and use this light as an air guitar you will destroy at the end of the concert : ) Cheers ... Nice Piece ...
Kindest Regards ..
