Description

I found this rose-patterned platter at a local resale shop. I've been searching for the mark everywhere-- "M B Limoges France" with a lion crest-- to no avail. I would love to know if this is a fake Limoges or just a relatively unknown producer. Any input is welcome!

I’m not finding anything on this other than some with the same mark on eBay and Etsy https://www.ebay.com/itm/M-B-LIMOGES-Hand-Painted-Roses-Cup-Plate-Made-in-France-/260781051082 https://www.etsy.com/listing/177720158/limoges-france-mb-ramekin-underplate Haven’t found your mark except on those. The article on this page is pretty informative so may be worth reading https://antiques.lovetoknow.com/Antique_Limoges_China_Dinnerware

Limoges was once the largest production center of floral painted porcelain in the world from the 1870's through to World War One (1914). Examples like yours were made right through the 1920's. The area was home to hundreds of potteries and decorator studios, not all of them documented. Values for Limoge peaked in the early 1990's demand and values for it by even big name makers has declined since then and has not recovered,
