Re: M. Narz Muhlberg painting

I think you need to look at this site:

http://www.antiquesofrepublic.com/ypainting.html

If you scroll down, you will find they list a tag with useful info for you on the back.

I only collect a few artists but I would suggest that, in better condition, this one is worth about $500. In this condition however (needs restoration) I'd put it in the $100 - $150 area.

Again remember I don't collect Vienna artists, you need to talk to someone who does. Art work is also very subjective so you have to be in the right market place to get maximum value.

Hope this helps!

Re: M. Narz Muhlberg painting

I have a similar oil landscape painting.  It is in excellent condition.  We bought it at an art store in Madison, Wisconsin in 1970.  The trees are mostly greens and yellows and there is a path on the right.  Otherwise it looks like the same setting.  The artist signature is Narz on the bottom left.  I have not found anything on just this name alone. Would be interested in any other information you find that would also help with researching this artist. We lost the original info.

Re: M. Narz Muhlberg painting

I recently purchased a nearly identical piece, featuring a remarkably similar frame, and also painted by M. Muhlberg.  I aquired mine throught a local garage salses man, whom originaly asked ten, but I bartered down to five.  I hope this can be of some help. I'll think of you when ever I pass my Muhlberg displayed on the floor behind my furnace.
