Re: Madeline Tourletot Landscape

Very Accomplished artist Nov 1915 - May 2002

Circa 1940 by date. She married in 1935 at the age of 19 to E Touretot a prominant archetect at the time. This further makes sense to the period and her name signature. Tourtelot founded three art institutions: the Ephraim Art School (1943), the Gallery Studio in Chicago's North Michigan Avenue arts district (1950s), and the Door Harbor School of Art (1965), now known as the Peninsula School of Art

There is a painting of her's called "escape" at the art institute of chicago. She went into acting around 1947 .. This painting in all likelyhood was one of her earlier pieces.

After looking I have very little info on her paintings. For me to try and valuate this paintings worth would be difficult due to having nothing to compare it too. I would encourage you to contact the museum and art institutes mentioned in this regard.

Because of her statue I would think this could be something of value and would encourage you to persue it further.  You also want to have this covered on your house insurance.

Thanks for sharing ... I would appreciate any feedback / reply on this info and an upvote if it provided any insight ...

Peace Always
