The lamp is grey and white marble and carved beautifully with a shape that is not too simple but not overly ornate. It does have a couple small brown spots which I assume is water damage and/or scratches but they are minimal. The base of the lamp is square and the body is made up of 6 pieces of marble carved into different shapes and attached after the fact. The hardware that holds the bulb may not be original and it is also been shaken loose, though it stays upright and holds a bulb in it. It is just not particularly sturdy. The hardware's connection to the lamp itself is intact, just the tube that holds the threading for the bulb to screw into is loose from it's base. The cord is a brown one. It is original to the piece and has a 2-pronged plug. Black felt covers the bottom of the base, perhaps covering the hallmark. The cord has some paint marks on it but is not worn through in any areas.

History
This lamp was my mothers. She used it throughout the 70s and 80s. She did not tell me where she got it from, whether she inherited it or bought it but she did love to purchase whatever were the hottest items in the department stores when she was young.
