Description
This oil painting is signed by W S Chiang. The inception date is not marked or known. The painting is a marine landscape and resembles a traditional Asian water-mountain landscape. Variations of blue sum up as dominant color, but accents of yellow, red, browns and ocher add to the color pallet. The focal point in the depiction is human activity: two boats(a large and a smaller one)are centrally located. Two people also depicted, although sketchy. The boats are close to land, mountains are shown in background, and rocks are surrounding the boats.
Re: Marine Landscape by WS Chiang
His work has been "estimated" at $400-$1,200 at auction value, but I only find 1 sold for just $200 in 2008... see the other listing, it has some good history/details from one of his paintings... http://www.instappraisal.com/content/ws-chiang-painting-sailing-junks#c…
