it was used by my husband who was a hair stylist for 35 yearsprior ot his death in 1992 I don't know if he bought it new, I think he may have gotten it from a barber who was going out of business and had used it for many ;years.

These were a real hot item

These were a real hot item back inthe 1980/90's when the baby boomer nostalgia demand was at its peak. But in the current market values for these pieces have not appreciated all that much since then. Today at auction comparable electri barber poles sell in the $300.00- $450.00 range.

I will add

 I agree with "lovejoy" about the price, but will add that this item might be worth most to someone who went to this barber shop. People pay good $ for things sentimental. So try local.
