Maurice Utrillo painting

By jillphoto, 14 May, 2008
Description

This is in excellent condition and has the subdued colors that Utrillo used in one of his painting periods.  Is definitely more than just a poster since there is a texture to the surface but am unable to determine myself if this is an original or one of the many reproductions that students would recreate.  Thanks for your help.

History
My father had this hanging in his office probably since around 1940. Have been trying to find some information on this but have not been able to locate the painting in any of the Utrillo books that I have researched at the library. Very similiar however to many of his works of the streets of Montmartre. Do believe this is an original because of the texture, however need some advice on my quest here.

Re: Maurice Utrillo painting

Hello Jill. I too have what  I believe to be is an original Utrillo Montmarte street scene. I have to ask: how long have you been waiting for a response concerning yours? Have you had any luck in authenticating it? Please advise. Thank you! Kristi Brown [email protected]
