The item is about 9 3/4 inches tall.  Marked on the bottom.  It is glazed on the inside.  I am wondering what it is called and if it had a lid that went with it.  I am also wondering about how old it may be and what it was used for?

I know that there is a 'Jay Medicine Hat' out of California who runs a Marijuana dispensary (saw him in a documentary I believe). I wouldnt be surprised if they also sell "Medicine hat branded jars like that, perhaps it was someone's old "medicine" jar...?
