This is a metal ewer. It is 5.5 inches high, about 3-5/8 inches at it's widest, and the opening at the top is 3 inches, and narrows to about 2 1/2 inches at the narrowest part. The base is 1/2 inch deep, 2 - 1/2 inches wide at the base. I am not sure of the metal, but it appears to be copper or brass plated. This ewer belonged to my father, who collected unusual items. The origin is unknown to me. There are horizontal lines circling the ewer at 3/16, 3/8, 1/2 , and 2 inches below the top opening on the exterior. The handle appears to be secured at the top with two large rivet-like studs, and one at the bottom of the handle. The heads of these rivets are about 7/16 inch in diameter. The ewer appears to be made out of a different metal than the plating on the exterior, but I am not a metals expert.
