Re: Micro-Perophone Portable
This is a UK made portable record player from the days of 78 RPM records. It was likely brought into the US by an antique importer. There are enough in quantity for sale in the antique retail business that yours might sell for between $100 to $300. However you might see one marked at a significantly higher price according to deman or the retailer's cost of their business space. Yours appears to be in excellent condition. But these tend to be an impulse buy by people like me that enjoy antiques that "work." Sometimes you see such items featured as artifacts at a restaurant.
If you desire to use it, pick up some used 78s for cheap and play it outside. You should go online and purchase replacement needles in quantity (soft, medium, or loud). Each needle is designed to played a maximum of three plays before it wears out. Better the needle wear out than damage the record. I took my girlfriend to the park with one like it and danced to the music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and others and enjoyed a picnic lunch. We've been married now for 35 years.
